8 May - Arrived at Miami Everglades RV Resort

🎵  Party in the city where the heat is on
All night, on the beach till the break of dawn
Welcome to Miami
Bienvenidos a Miami
Bouncin in the club where the heat is on
All night, on the beach till the break of dawn
I'm goin to Miami

Welcome to Miami!  🎵
(Will Smith - Miami Lyrics)

We waved goodbye to Naples FL this morning and headed down Alligator Alley Rte 41 towards Miami.  Before we get into the details, "Alligator Alley" did not disappoint!  We spotted alligators along side the rode in two different locations.  This first one was a big 'un maybe six foot long or more and easy to spot just off the shoulder on the right side.  Doreen spotted the next one, about a three footer, in  a similar location.  That kept us on point the rest of the way!

The scenery along Alligator Alley never changed for the most part.  There was a canal-like waterway along a lot of the route and with it being Saturday the anglers were everywhere.  Would be interesting to know what they were catching.

When we got close to Miami the areas became very agricultural.  There were also many nursery's and landscaping businesses.  We are looking forward to driving around this area more to see what they are growing.

Solar farms here also

Departure time this morning was 10:04 hrs and we arrived at the Miami Everglades RV Resort at 12:13 hrs after driving 99 miles.  Another short travel day and that is just fine by me!

From what we were told this is a former KOA and now an Encore Resort.  So far we are pretty impressed.  We were in-checked quickly and escorted to our site, a full hookup 50 amp pull-through, concrete patio and has with some afternoon shade yet satellite friendly.  Score!
Nice shade tree for the afternoon sun

Plenty of room for the shiny brown RAM.

Our Nation's Colors flying high and proudly!

The resort is surrounded by a bike/walking trail.  Doreen and I found our way around part of it with Liberty.  Much of it is shaded which makes it nice.

They have a huge circular swimming pool, shuffle board courts, an 18-hole min-golf course, pickleball courts, basketball courts, a large patio concession / bar area and many other amenities.

Beautiful walkway to the swimming pool

Circular swimming pool area

Looks like the hot tub is closed

18 hole putt-putt golf

Shuffle board courts.  Note this one says "professional" so that excludes me!!

The campground is a mix of seasonal / fulltime folks and transients like us.  It appears to be well-kept overall.
We are here for eight nights and do not have a lot of firm plans for this stop yet, except tomorrow - Mother's Day, when we will visit loanDepot Park and watch the Miami Marlins baseball team host the Milwaukee Brewers at 13:10 hrs.  Doreen get's her pick of the ballpark cuisine LOL.
