15 May - Last Day at Miami Everglades RV Resort

Last day at the Miami Everglades RV Resort.  Typical last day with the laundry, cleaning, tank emptying, hose stowing, RV washing, etc etc.....  A labor of love.  I started this morning after lunch and did not let up until about 4pm.  It's nice to be at a campground that allows you to wash your rig.  That is a rarity.  So I scrubbed it down and toweled it off.  All the hoses are stowed and we are ready to shove-off at 0900 hrs tomorrow and head on up to Cape Canaveral and Jetty Park.

Here are a few parting photos from the campground.  This first set is pretty cool.  The "Ficus Aurea" tree.  One of the locals said it is a bush and not even a tree but Wikipedia disagrees.  It is apparently a type of fig tree.  I was just amazed at the roots.  They are awesome looking trees.

The critters we see running around here are an invasive raindow lizard.  Also know as the African redhead agamas.  The males are the colorful ones with the orange heads.  The female ones are not as colorful.  They are sure fun to watch!  They like doing pushups.  They are everywhere and very fast!

It is always fun to walk the dog around any campground and look at the various RV's.  There are definitely some "Cousin Eddie" specials.

Just a bit snug

OK!  Just stencil right on the side of your coach.  Yeah, I guess!

If you are here long enough you may need to relevel?

Well, I won't bore you with any more.  We are going to bug out in the morning and head northbound.  We are looking forward to our visit at Cape Canaveral.  Patrick Air Force Base does not take reservations, so with the recommendation of a friend we decided to stay at Jetty Park Campground which is right on the entrance to Port Canaveral and just a stones throw from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.  Monday we plan to watch a launch and we already have reservations for the Lighthouse and Space Flight tour on Tuesday.

Next report from Cape Canaveral!
