Oct 2020 - Mar 2021 Preparation Begins for Our 2021 Southeast and East Coast RV Trip

Doreen and I are off on another RV adventure and we have received many requests to publish a blog again, so here goes...  It may take me a little time to get caught up, but we will give it a shot.

Last year we planned an extensive trip that would take us to Florida, up the east coast through Washington DC and back through the Midwest, Michigan and Wisconsin, but COVID forced us to pull the plug.  We did finally do a little travel and ended up catching COVID right in Iowa!  We obviously survived to travel another day.

We continued to monitor the COVID situation and last fall we had to either plan the next trip or not as it pertained to reservations, so we decided to "bet on the come" and plan a 2021 RV trip, basically a duplicate of the trip we did not do in 2020.  

So around October/November 2020 timeframe we started the planning process.  This trip involves 35 "stops", 195 nights including those before we leave and those when we return, and approximately 5700 "point-to-point" miles which are the miles we travel between stops.  From previous trips we know we will also travel about 6000 "vicinity miles in the truck, those miles traveled to see the sites around each stop.

As in the past we plan to see many friends, relatives and military comrades all the way along the route.  It should be a fantastic trip and we have been really looking forward to it.

So on 8 Mar we got the RV out of storage and after a checkup at the RV dealer service department we pulled it to Griff's RV Park near Ankeny where we unwinterized, restocked and tested out everything.  On 1 Apr 2020 we "pulled chocks" and launched out on our 2021 Southeast and East Coast RV Trip!  

I will try my best to get the blog updated with where we have been and what we have seen so far.  We are only on our second stop, currently in Nashville TN for one more night and then we head to the Walland TN area for four nights.  More to follow!
