We were busy yesterday getting settled and I did not even take one picture of our setup. Today we hung around here in the morning. Doreen did some laundry and other tasks. I got a ton done on the computer, made some phone calls, etc.
Later we took an extended walk with Liberty and I took some campground pictures. This is relaxing, the way it should be.
The Madison/Pittsburgh SE KOA is built on both sides of a valley. You come off of a hill down to the office, then further down to a watershed. From there it is all up hill! Gets those calves screaming, you know?! So each camping site is basically terraced. The terraces are pretty level, though. Our auto-levelers did just fine with no blocks under the tires. My old Jayco's Atwood leveling system would have errored out and died.
Like most KOA's, there are a combination of back-in and pull-through camp sites (ours is a pull-through); a couple different styles of cabins, a "jumpy-jump" pillow, a swimming pool, horse shoes, playground, a fishing pond with canoes for rent, etc.
This afternoon we headed into a nearby town. The big ol' brown truck was running on fumes, like Cousin Eddie would say, so I needed fuel badly, or so the fuel gauge indicated. Yee-ouch! So why can I buy fuel anywhere along our 6000 mile trip route for ~$3 or less and here it is $3.50 to $3.80 or even more? Yeah, I know, road-use taxes, fuel taxes, etc. And oh by the way, diesel fuel is supposed to be cheaper. It is just frustrating to fill the tank and basically hand over a C-note.
So I filled up with fuel while Doreen took Liberty into Petsmart for a pedicure, or is it a manicure, or maybe a dogicure? Then we picked up some groceries including a special request for our son Dan! I am a sucker for hot sauce so one of those is in our RV fridge!
Then we headed back via the back roads which was nice. There is definitely some beautiful countryside here in PA. Love the old stone buildings.
No grand plans for tomorrow so far. We might investigate Fort Ligonier or other things in the local area.. Not interested in long drives at this point, especially at $3.499 per gallon LOL!
