This morning Doreen did some laundry here as the machines at the Buckeye KOA were inoperative with parts supposedly on order, and would have required a trip into town to a local laundry mat. The FamCamp here at Camp Atterbury has it's own machines and they are free! We like free!
Later we headed south and east to a small town called Nashville IN, not to be confused with Nashville TN! We visited Nashville when we stayed here in 2016 in route to Maine. Nashville is an eclectic little town in Browne County and it's claim to fame is it's art colony; a plethora of shops, restaurants, and other tourist attractions all within walking distance.
The last time we were here we ended up down an alley and found a neat little brew pub run by a retired firefighter so we were obligated to stop for a cold one and talk with him. It must have closed or we misjudged it's location so instead we stopped at the Nashville House restaurant for a late lunch. I need to make it a habit to immediately cut my lunch and dinner portions in half and put them in a take-out container right away as we both left there over-stuffed! Doreen had a chicken sandwich which was huge and I took a liking to Cuban sandwiches in Miami, so I had one here. It did not disappoint!
We walked around a bit, made our way back to the truck and then stopped by Walmart for a few things before heading back to the campground. Needless to say, when the time came neither of us wanted dinner so we tuned in the Cubs vs Marlins game and before long there was a knock on the door. It was a lady Doreen met at the laundry this morning and her husband. They were out walking their dogs and wanted to see our Alliance fifth wheel. The guy was a retired Air Force Reserve Airman who served in Civil Engineers as a carpenter. He commented on my Command Chief garden flag and we started talking about our experiences. Turns out we both served in Iraq at the same location - Kirkuk Air Base - FOB Warrior! He was there in 2004 and I was there in 2006-2007. That is one of the things we love about staying at military campgrounds - you often run into someone you either know, or they know someone who you know, or you served at the same locations.
That's it for tonight. No huge plans for tomorrow yet but we will surely stumble onto something!
